THE PROMISE

 “ The Promise” has multiple meanings. When I began the painting, the image was about holding onto Heaven. One has to create a loving life and it is there for us, but you have to reach for it, grab it as a balloon, if you will. When we fall into love, for example the change in our reality is a gift, the world is a more loving place, the colors are brighter and life is more joyful…”( There were birds on the hill, but I never heard them singing, never heard them singing until there was you”…( Beatles) express the feelings we all hope to share.

I have noticed that we change our reality with our viewpoint, such as when one is sad, it is like wearing grey glasses, our outer world is percieved to match inner grey. But we do have a choice, which is what every religion promises us”Heaven”. Heaven as something that one can go to when one dies, or Heaven as a state of enlightenment here on earth, the religious differences of how and when or what Heaven is does not matter… the Promise does and remains true for all.

“The Promise” is offered in a hand-painted and gilded,signed limited edition(200) giclee. The child’s halo signifies enlightenment of an open heart and 23K double Swiss gold.
